Runaway Bride

The poem below is a sequel of my earlier post, In bended knee. This was written about a year after the first poem as part of a school project. It was my second year in highschool when this particular poem came about.

Runaway Bride

I was walking down the aisle
then suddenly my heart beats fast
Isn't this the special day
that I have longed at last?
Then why do I have this feeling
this dread creeping in my heart
Isn't this the special day
the day my happiness will start

Is it just my imagination?
this ugly feeling inside
When I reach my destination
will ths dreadful feeling reside?
Stopping for a minute,
I looked at my destination
My soon-to-be husband looked
and smiled with anticipation

The people in the pews
seemed like a blur to me
Thn again my heart beats fast
it just wouldn't let me be
Oh, please ny friend, forgive me
for you I will never betray
But it's not love that brought us here
in this fateful day

I ran away....

In Bended Knee

The poem below was written when I was in my first year in high school. This particular poem has a sequel that will be feature in the next post. This was started primarily because of a favor for a friend.

In Bended Knee

Come with me, let's go away
Take my hand, I will show the way
I  made this day special for you
Ther's not that much that you should do
There's something inside that I longed to say
Hear me out, and please, just stay
Take my hand and come with me
Because I'll finally it, in bended knee

The Birth of a Poet? Or not?

To start my list of literary pieces( random stuff that I write about when I am in a mood),I want to post my very first poem or rather the earliest poem that I have written down, shown to others and was able to keep.

I was about seven or eight years old when I wrote this and its embarassingly nonsensical if you think about it. Though seemingly ridiculous when I read it now, I am proud of this poem because it was the one of the first poems that had started my love for literature. This was written as a gift for my parents and I can still remember that when I started writing this and how much the process of making it seemed to fit. (Yeah, pretty deep soul searching for a pre-school kid). I have written more after, this but this is one of my literary works that I remember verbatim, not because it was so short, but because this wasthe time I knew about my love for writing and litrature in general. So here it goes,

Love
Love of mine
Be with you
Because this love
is good and true
So this love
I give to you
Love it
Because I love
You too.

A Good Start to a New Year

Guess this blog is a start to a new year, though a bit late in the making. I have been attempting for the longest time to start a blog, but I guess I'm a traditional sort of person and kept all my writings on paper (medieval, I know). This was all good and fine but moving to three different places in the span of 5 years, I can't help but let go of a lot of things, or rather, misplace a lot of things.

I guess, that I wanted to post all my written works and thoughts here for posterity's sake. I have written poems and stories in various notebooks since I was eight years old and, unfortunately a lot of my works have been lost and my poor memory (even at a young age) is not such a reliable storage.

I am now 21 years old, but you might be surprised that some of my posts might be a bit childish, due to the fact that some might have been written when I was still a kid. I'll be posting randomly, written works from the past, the present, and some random thoughts.
